UPCOMING WORKSHOPS November 18th & 19th, 2008 Woodlawn is hosting an Essential Skills for Historic Monument Repair workshop. The two-day workshop will introduce participants to a wide variety of conservation repair techniques and 'best practices'. Training ranged from the philosophy of conservation to hands-on practical work: participants will each complete the necessary repairs for a broken marble slab-style monument, under the supervision of the three instructors:
Per Neumeyer, master stonemason specializing in conservation of cemeteries,
Tamara Anson-Cartwright, advising conservator regarding cemeteries at the Ontario Ministry of Culture, Heritage and Museums branch, and
Sach Killam, cemetery worker with practical experience in applying the workshop training in Woodlawn.
The workshop is administered by the Ontario Association of Cemeteries and Funeral Professionals and is open to non-members. Preserving our heritage is responsibility that we all share together.
