The GYMC successfully pursues a philosophy and practice that is inclusive of all socio-economic and other groups in the community, is welcoming, and is respectful of cultural diversity. The Guelph Youth Music Centre engages in proactive outreach, community partnerships and actively promotes music as a form of recreation and personal development.



The GYMC has as one of its main assets a community facility, the Centre, which reflects the organization's philosophy of access, affordability, equal opportunity and respect for diversity. The Centre is attractive and versatile. It offers an atmosphere that is safe and exciting, accommodates both formal and informal activities and is conducive to family and school-based activities. It also functions as a favoured venue for local musicians.
