Guelph's own orchestra is a classical ensemble, of up to 55 players,
depending upon repertoire, including strings, woodwinds, brass and
percussion. The repertoire ranges from Beethoven to Bartok, and Mozart
to Mendelssohn. Players include gifted amateurs and professionals from
the Guelph area. Founded in 2001 as the Guelph Chamber Orchestra, the
name was changed to Guelph Symphony Orchestra in May 2003 to reflect
the symphonic repertoire performed.
