spacer Frequently Asked Questions
arrow Who was responsible for the beginning of the Elora Community Theatre?
In 1972 Pat Chataway was a relative newcomer to Elora. She talked excitedly to many people about the benefits of re-establishing a community theatre in the Village. She sought out members of the last theatre group in Elora-"The Elora Players". She placed an ad in the "Elora Express" encouraging people to come out to a meeting at Carnegie Hall (Elora) on Sept. 15th 1972 to consider the establishment of a community theatre company. About fifty people showed up, and the Elora Community Theatre was born.
