How does ECT choose its plays?

Discipline: Theatre
Elora Community Theatre

Plays are chosen by a five person "Play Reading Committee". This Committee usually has a chair from the ECT Board of Directors, as well as various ECT members who enjoy the experience of reading and discussing the plays submitted to the Committee by interested play directors. This Committee seeks play submissions in the winter and spring of the year prior to the next season's beginning. Usually the Committee makes its recommendations to the ECT Board in March or April so that the new season can be set well in advance. The ECT season usually consists of three plays: one to be performed in November, one in February, and one in late April and/or early May. ECT members, as well as season ticket buyers from previous years, are thus able to consider in advance the productions in which they may be interested.

The Play Reading chair for the 2007-2008 season is Bronwyn Hill.

Is there a current sponsor for the 2007-2008 season of ECT plays?

Discipline: Theatre
Elora Community Theatre

Yes, we appreciate the sponsorship and support of The Meridian Credit Union. Meridian has an office in south Fergus located just behind Angel's Diner.

Discipline: Theatre

When you purchase tickets to our shows, you not only support us but also The Elora Centre for the Arts where we rehearse, and The Fergus Grand Theatre where we perform.

You can also provide support through becoming a member or acting as a patron or a sponsor. For more information contact Mary Lloyd at  mary@ralphbasset.com

How can my business, or company be involved with ECT?

Discipline: Theatre
Elora Community Theatre

ECT has a number of sponsorship opportunities which may be of interest to your business or company. For specific details including the benefits of being a performance, show, or season sponsor contact Mary Lloyd  at mary@ralphbasset.com

How can my club or group get involved with ECT?

Discipline: Theatre
Elora Community Theatre

Your club or group can enjoy a social outing to one of our plays. We offer a group rate of only $11.00 per person for groups of ten or more. Why not combine an evening at the Theatre with a meal at one of our fine restaurants in Fergus or Elora? Another option, especially if you are coming by bus, is to have a step-on guide board your coach for a historical and sightseeing tour of the Elora-Fergus area. For further information contact Gary Bryant at gbryant@cogeco.ca

What are the benefits of membership in ECT?
