Our vision as an access centre includes specific measures that address barriers to media artists from communities under-represented in both mainstream media and independent video production. These measures encompass both production and exhibition at the centre, to address existing structures of racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, classism and elitism within the organization and the larger society.

There is no Ed. Really.

In 1976, the founders of Ed Video chose Ed to reflect the "educational" focus, which continues to this day.

Supposing there was an Ed, he or she would be someone who is interested in all aspects of making movies. In coming to the Ed Video Media Arts Centre, Ed would be able to:

• start moviemaking by renting professional equipment to shoot the video, produce the video in the editing suites, learn about both in the workshops, and request assistance from other members.
• come to events that Ed Video puts on, including screenings, exhibitions and special events.
• participate in the special features offered such as the events 24 Hour Film Festival, Members Projects , submit works for Awards or view movies in the Project Archives

So, while you cannot meet Ed, you can come and develop your education/interest in movies.
