In September 2008 the Eden Mills Writers' Festival celebrates its 20th anniversary.  Come join us September 5 and 6 for literary and music composition workshops and/or September 7 when over 50 authors will read at various outdoor locations throughout the village.  New this year - Anne of Green Gables centenary celebration, environmental author set and poetry slam.

The Eden Mills Writers' Festival was founded in 1989 and has taken place annually since then. Although it started out as the fulfillment of the personal vision of Governor General's Award winner Leon Rooke, the festival has matured and expanded over the years until it has become a nationally acclaimed and widely respected literary event while still maintaining a small "footprint".

The festival now takes place each year on the first Sunday after Labour Day. In all its years of operation, the event has only once had to move to the rain site, which is at the nearby Edgewood Camp. This was in 1996 when the remains of a hurricane swept through the area. We continue to operate, rain or shine, noon 'til six.
